Special days

December has always been a special month for me...

The 21st is my daughter's birthday and 23rd is my hubby's.

This year my daughter turns 13 years old and hubby 42. Actually I was a bit upset to learn about rumors on the Mayan calendar that predicted the doomsday at Dec 21, 2012. Well, I didn't believe it to the slightest, but of all the 365 days of the year, should it be at my daughter's birthday? Hahaha it doesn't matter now, because we survive that one..!

The 22nd is actually the Mother's Day in Indonesia. I rarely post my self picture, but for the sake of the Mom's Day, here's a picture of me, my daughter, and my mom...

Have a nice year-end!
Happy stitching!

Happy pumpkin

We bought a pumpkin two days ago.
We usually cook them with brown sugar and coconut milk to make dessert.

This time, I only steamed it.
My attempt to reduce sugar consumption.
Its taste is actually not bad.

By the way, we don't really celebrate it but the picture matches the occasion.
So, "Happy Halloween!"
BOO!

Pink ribbon October

October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

My mom is actually one of the breast cancer survivors. She had her surgery back in 2002. After a series of chemotherapy and 5 years hormone-therapy by consuming Tamoxifen, she was declared clean from cancer in 2008. She only has to do a yearly cancer blood test afterwards. Thus, I was given a warning on this matter. I should do an early detection.

P.S. This Hard Rock Cafe pin was bought by my hubby on his Bali trip with his high school friends a few days ago.

202 years and counting

Today is my hometown 202nd anniversary.

I hope Bandung will get better through time. Most of all, a better mass transportation system. So we don't have to stumble upon a frustrating & unpredictable traffic jam which currently become our daily routine.

Give us back our beautiful Parijs van Java (Paris of Java)!

Friendship is a treasure

I received this cute little cup last week. It was from Ms. Lela Thomas & Mr. Randall Hayward -my hubby's colleagues- of Taksu Kirana (a restaurant & spa in Ubud, Bali).

Friends, family members, and colleagues are very much aware that I'm a mugholic, they sent me lovely mugs to add to my collection. I'm very grateful for having them...

Maybe I should start writing & posting the story behind each mug I got.... LOL

Change is always good?

It's been only 2 months since I exclaimed and posted that I love that one picture sharing app on my mobile phone, the Instagram.

But it began to develop a few major changes (not much to my liking... sadly).

It was the app of the year 2011. Then the team began to expand users, a different operating system users. And yesterday it was bought by the amazing Facebook...

As much as I'm happy for the Instagram team, still I'm not amused at all...

I'm taking it too seriously... It's just an app by the way...

Picture Sharing : Sharing the Memories

I agree with the saying that says picture speaks a thousand words...

I always love keeping my pictures well-arranged in photo albums although I'm not really good at taking pictures nor photography and I don't think I'm photogenic either. So I don't really think I have good photos but it's the memories that matter....

I'm also delighted to be able to share those memories through picture sharing websites, such as flickr (I use it since January 2010). Right now, I fancy Instagram, one of my iPhone app.

And today, I have used the app for exactly one year!

(Yes, there's a website which provide the statistics of our Instagram account)

I also kind of drag my hubby and my daughter to join the social networking app (my daughter only use my iPhone to login since she doesn't have one).
So, when one day my mom brought us a box of strawberries, we didn't immediately make strawberry juice like we used to. Instead, we took photos and later we posted the photos to our Instagram account.

Here's the picture uploaded by my hubby :

My daughter uploaded this one :

And this one is mine :

November Rain

It's been raining a lot since last week.
Well, I think it's time to welcome the rainy season.
Though it's usually bright in the morning, can't help to notice cloud with a shade of black..

And in the afternoon, the rain starts pouring down, sometimes briefly and in several ocassions heavily with thunders and lightnings.

Moments after the rain are usually hectic (due to my hometown condition).
The rapid growth of private-own vehicles makes traffic jam a common ocassion on a daily basis. Also, people tends to halt their outdoor activities during the rain (off course) and they abruptly continue their activities as soon as rain stops. That's when we fight for space on the street... LOL.

Despite the uncomfortable routines, I just let my self enjoy the rain along with its consequences.
Earth after the rain is actually beautiful and melancholic...
Those falling leaves make me wonder how autumn feels like... (living in a tropical country leaves me with fewer choice of seasons... LOL)

Anyway, enjoy your day!! Whatever the season is...
